The 50’s has never been so fun. The 7 Sopranos turn back time to the era of Hollywood glamour as they throw off their classic opera gowns for 50’s pin up look, with their upcoming Australian show dedicated to popular hits.
Living up to their reputation as the “showgirls of opera”, The 7 Sopranos’ new musical – Songs from Stage and Screen, draws on classic songs such as – I Got Rhythm, Big Spender and Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend – in a deliciously cheeky show celebrating sisterhood, the power of transformation, and flirtatious fluttering petticoats.
Take a step back in time to 1956. Think nylons, record players and eye poppin’ lipstick. It was the year when Marilyn Monroe sizzled in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and families gathered around the wireless for their news and entertainment each night. Radio broadcasters predict that television will be the death of radio.
So, channel your inner Doris Day, Marilyn Monroe or Judy Garland and let The 7 Sopranos take you on a glamorous journey though the hits of 1950’s radio and television.
A Cre8ion Production. Presented by Cessnock Performing Arts Centre.
