People travel all over to visit the Hunter Valley Gardens. The Garden keepers are very passionate about their gardens it consists of over 40 landscape gardeners, architects and engineers to bring you these amazing art works of fauna.

So with this amazing team what makes the Gardens so special! Well there is 8 Kms of walking paths that wind through 12 Hect of these styled gardens It happens to hold over 6000 trees and over 60000 shrubs and over 1 mil ground plants! So you can imagine it is a lot to tend to! To Enhance the whole excitement the Hunter Valley Gardens feature statues, murals, waterfalls and much more.

Take the time to smell the roses

The Gardens are divided into different themes for your viewing pleasure. The sweet smelling Rose garden is Surrounded by four Pergolas and features over 8000 roses of over 150 different varieties now all of these beautiful roses are showcased in a corkscrew shape to represent the wineries of the Hunter valley region. In the heart is where the statue of Imelda Roche and her 12 Grandchildren

Mediterranean inspired is an Italian Grotto with lots of reds and pinks and lemon and herbs the olive trees and lavender take you away to another place. This is where the statue of Saint Francis of Assisi lives who is the patron saint of Animals and environment, so go find a nice place to chill, close your eyes and fly across the seas to

The Garden can take you away to another part of the world to Chinese Gardens where you enter through a grand moon gate guarded by 2 bronze temple Guards you can then be immersed in different chinese culture elements with rugged rocks and different raked gravel designs

Once you have left China you can scoot over to Japan or Korea in the Oriental Garden to in peace and Harmony while enjoying the serenity of the Japanese Pagoda and koi pond.  

After you are feeling all balanced again you can move along and get lost in the Magic of the sunken garden and the 10 metre waterfall that is offers, take some beautiful Photos from the pergola that overlooks it all from the top of the waterfall.

Continuing with the magic  you can lose yourself down the rabbit hole into the timeless nursery rhymes characters in the Storybook Garden, help your kids turn their dreams and fantasies into reality with some great photo opportunities that can keep forever.

You can also visit the topiary Brokenback Brumbies galloping from the Brokenback Range to the watering holes of Hunter Valley Gardens. Or walk the lakes with the stunning backdrop past the Hunter Valley Gardens chapel or throw a coin in the wishing well in the formal Gardens. You can even go and relax in the Indian tea house!. With so much to see at these gardens take you time and enjoy being around nature.

Christmas Light Spectacular!!

During the christmas period the Hunter Valley Gardens does put on a spectacular show on lights featuring over 2 million lights and little food and beverage stalls as well as entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. Friday, November 3rd 2017, to Saturday, January 27th 2018 Gates will open at 5.30pm and will close at 10.00pm.. But if that wasn't exciting enough the Hunter Valley gardens has just added some great new rides to enjoy that operate during school holidays this includes a swing chair, ferris wheel, carousel, super slide and a train ride. They offer Day and Night Passes to the Christmas Lights which allows you access to Hunter Valley Gardens from 9.00am – 4.00pm, then the Gardens closes for preparations and re-opens at 5.30pm for the Lights. This pass permits entry to day and night activities within the one week only. All visitors must vacate the Gardens between 4pm and 5.30pm.

Yes, tickets are available at Garden Entry.

HOW DO I BUY NEW YEAR’S EVE TICKETS?

These are the same as the regular Christmas Lights tickets; you can purchase them online or at Garden Entry.

CAN I PURCHASE AN ANNUAL PASS?

Annual Passes are great value and offer unlimited entry to Hunter Valley Gardens for 12 months from the purchase date. These are valid for all events.

There is great social rates for the Christmas Lights Spectacular for groups of 10 or more paying adults. In order to secure this rate you must pre-book at least 3 days in advance with our groups department.

HOW DO YOU REPRINT YOUR ONLINE TICKETS?

Online tickets are emailed to the address you provided. If you have not received your tickets please check your spam/junk mail. If your tickets are still not able to be located you may have entered the wrong email address. Please call 4998 4000 for further assistance.

DO YOU OFFER RE-ENTRY?

Yes, pass outs are available within the one session. If you wish to return during the same session, you must notify the staff at the Garden entry who will issue you with a pass that will allow you re-entry on that date only. Be aware that during Christmas Lights Spectacular you may need to line up again.

RIDES & INFLATABLE ZONES

WHAT ARE THE RIDES?

New and permanent additions to the Hunter Valley Gardens include the Venetian Carousel, Swing Chair and Ferris Wheel.

The Super Slide will also be running.

Children must be supervised at all times whilst on the rides.

All rides and fun zones activities are provided weather permitting.

WHAT IS THE INFLATABLE FUN ZONE?

This year The Gardens have two inflatable fun zones. The Toddler inflatable fun zone is located next to the Storybook Garden and is specifically for younger children. It will be open 5.30pm to 9.30pm.

The standard inflatable fun zone is located in the event area, next to the Ferris Wheel, and will be open 5.30pm to 9.30pm.

Both areas are available for unlimited use with the purchase of an unlimited rides wristband which can be purchased at the ticketing booth located in the main event area of the Gardens .

WHO CAN GO ON THE RIDES & INFLATABLE FUN ZONES?

Swing Chair

Children between 110cm-120cm must ride with an adult, 120cm and above may ride alone.

Ferris Wheel

Children below 120cm must ride with an adult.

Carousel

Children below 105cm must ride with an adult (adult must stand next to child).

Superslide

Children between 110cm-120cm must ride with an adult, 120cm and above may ride alone.

Toddler Inflatable Fun Zone

For children aged 6 years and under

Inflatable Fun Zone

For older children under the age of 15 years

FOOD AND BEVERAGES IN THE GARDENS

CAN WE BRING FOOD AND DRINK INTO THE HUNTER VALLEY GARDENS?

There is no BYO picnics, food or beverage allowed into the Gardens.

WHAT FOOD AND BEVERAGE OPTIONS ARE IN THE GARDENS?

You can purchase food and beverages at the event from a range of food including;

  • HVG Marquee – Loaded Fries
  • Gelato Brothers – gelato, taco Baskets, Burrito Bowls
  • Cazza’s Kitchen – stuffed spuds and dumplings
  • Pauls Coffee & Churros
  • German Kitchen – Kranskys
  • Woodstax Pizza
  • Floss a Pop – fairy floss, popcorn & slushies.

IS THERE A RESTAURANT INSIDE THE GARDENS?

The Garden Terrace Café will only be operating during the day from 9.00am – 4.00pm and will not be operating during the Christmas Lights Spectacular.

I WANT TO BRING MY OWN FOOD

If you do not wish to purchase food in the Gardens, there is the option to enjoy a packed meal in the park near the HVG Shopping Village. We offer re-entry passes if you’re coming back in the same session. For this option, please see staff at the entry gate and be aware that during Christmas Lights Spectacular you may need to line up again.

ADDITIONAL ENTERTAINMENT

WHEN AND WHERE IS THE LIVE ENTERTAINMENT?

The Little Scallywags children’s music group perform each evening in the main event area at 7.30pm and 8.30pm each night.

There will be a range of roaming entertainment running from 6.00pm – 9.00pm each evening including; carolers, magicians and other characters. Please note that the carolers finish on Christmas Eve.

SANTA PHOTOS (3 November – 24 December 2016)

Santa photos will be available at the North Pole inside Santa’s Cave marquee from 6.00pm – 9.30pm every night until Christmas. All photos are supplied on a 4GB USB.

$35.00 – single group photos (best for small families or a single child) 3-6 different photos supplied

$45.00 – group photo and 3 individual photos (best for families who want a family photo plus individual shots of each child) 10-15 different photos supplied

$55.00 – 4 group photos (best value for large extended families with multiple family groups) 15-20 photos supplied

Each additional group added to a package is $5.00 extra

WHEN WILL SANTA BE ON-SITE?

Santa will be at the Christmas Lights every evening until Christmas Eve in Santa’s Cave at the North Pole.

WHEN ARE THERE FIREWORKS ON DISPLAY?

There is fireworks on the opening night – 3 November at 9.00pm and New Year’s Eve at 9.00pm. The fireworks are best viewed from the event area.

IS THERE A TRAIN AT NIGHT?

No, the train only operates during the day.

Now the Gardens also offer a unique selection of shops in the village you can get food, cheese, chocolate, coffee and wine to stunning glassware, jewellery, unique clothing and divine candles.
