Located just eight minutes from the Hunter Expressway, Block Eight lies at the doorway to the Hunter Valley wine region. The property is in a secluded area of the Valley and surrounded on three sides by untouched bush and agricultural land, affording visitors complete privacy and serenity.
There are 15 acres of grapevines, 10 acres of olives, three large dams, natural bushland areas and wide-open fields. Our views stretch behind to the Brokenback Range and forward to the Great Dividing Range and Barrington Tops.
Block Eight is also home to scores of kangaroos and wallabies, goannas, sugar gliders, ibis, swans, swamphens and our resident goats, pig, chooks, pea fowl and ducks. Guests are free to roam the property at their leisure.
Jeff and Todd were both busy full-time corporate professionals in Sydney and had renovated several properties to great success. But they started getting itchy feet as 40 approached and decided to take the plunge headfirst into a tree change.
It started with a trip to the Barossa and ended three years later with their love-at-first-sight visit to Block Eight. They knew nothing about grapes, wine, olives or tourism but they felt the property was something special, and held great promise. It also had the perfect spot for luxury villas.
Two years later and Block Eight has opened its doors to visitors, with wine and olive oil now available.
