Broke Fordwich is renowned for its Hunter Valley classics, Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz, and increasingly the premium quality of its Verdelho. More recently it has seen the successful introduction of Italian varietals such as Fiano, Areneis, Barbera and Sangiovese.
The wines of Broke Fordwich are slightly richer and softer in style (particularly those grown on the Fordwich Sill) whilst still maintaining their unique Hunter Valley characteristics.
The Cellar Doors are small family owned, award winning businesses. You’ll find gems only available from the Cellar Door and meet the people that grow and make the wines; the pace is slower; you won’t be pushed out by large crowds and tour groups meaning you get to truly savour the experience and wines.
Harvest time in Broke is usually around February and into March.
Most of our Cellar Doors are open for the weekend (they’re busy in the vines and during the week), with a couple open seven days and others by appointment during the week.
